At the time the master and fokis of the shop had all run away, the disobedient members of the pike pickets secretly took away money and articles at their discretion. They then closed the shop doors. They forced me to draw up a document to send both the pigs and men to the "TAI TUI PO" (The Headquarters of the trand Picket) for dis- posal. I beg to disclose you the facts in this letter and hope that you will kindly consider this case and make clear inquiries as to whether the shop is in the Chinese or British Territor- ies in order to relieve the local people from anger.
